Violist Tam Tran is a regular performer at the White House as a member of the "President's Own" U.S. Marine White House Orchestra. Tam has performed in several concerts with members of the Emerson String Quartet, Ani Kavafian, and Colin Carr. Tam has also participated in quartet performances at venues such as the Kennedy Center, Camp David, the State Department, the Library of Congress, United Nation functions in New York City, Constitution Hall, and the U.S. Supreme Court Building. Other appearances include performances at the National Cathedral, the MCI Center and on NPR's "Performance Today." Tam's former teachers include Lawrence Dutton of the Emerson String Quartet, Yizhak Schotten, Richard Young of the Vermeer String Quartet, and Emanuel Vardi.
